Liverpool FC made late £82m bid for top 21-year-old, January move could happen – report
Liverpool FC made a late bid to try and sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco in the transfer window, say reports

Liverpool made a last-ditch attempt to sign Thomas Lemar from Monaco with an £82m bid, according to reports in France.
French newspaper L’Equipe, as quoted by the Daily Star, is claiming that the Reds raised their initial offer from £74m to £82m within a week.
The same report claims that Liverpool were prepared to pay as much as £82m, not including add-ons, to bring the 21-year-old France international to Anfield before last week’s deadline.
The story also says that their final offer came after a proposal of £74m, plus £8m in add-ons, which was rejected by the French club.
Liverpool fans will be hoping that Lemar could still make the move to Anfield in the future, with the report claiming that the player himself was only interested in a move to Merseyside this year.
The same article also claims that there could be the opportunity for Lemar to link up with Liverpool in the January transfer window.
Liverpool did complete some business on transfer deadline day, as they secured a deal to sign Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal in a deal believed to be worth around an initial £35m.
Jurgen Klopp’s side return to Premier League action after the international break next weekend with a crunch clash against Manchester City at The Etihad.
