Liverpool will face competition from Real Madrid to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner, according to reports.
Sport 1, as quoted by talkSPORT, is reporting that the La Liga champions are keeping tabs on the highly-rated 21-year-old centre-forward with a view to a transfer next summer.
The same article states that Liverpool are admirers of the Germany international having already agreed a £48m deal to sign Werner’s RB Leipzig team-mate Naby Keita next summer.
According to the same story, Liverpool are very keen on Werner but the Champions League holders have sent scouts to watch the German striker in the Bundesliga.
RB Leipzig, though, could be reluctant to sell another of their key players given Guinea international Keita will move to Liverpool at the end of the 2017-18 season.
Werner has scored 24 goals in 34 games in the Bundesliga since moving to RB Leipzig from Stuttgart in 2016.
Liverpool signed AS Roma winger Mohamed Salah, Chelsea teenager Dominic Solanke, Hull City defender Andy Robertson and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer transfer window.
The Reds finished in fourth place in the Premier League table last season to secure a return to the Champions League after a two-season absence.
