Leon Osman reacts to Marouane Fellaini’s display in Man United’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace
Leon Osman was impressed by what he saw from Marouane Fellaini during Manchester United's 4-0 win over Crystal Palace

Leon Osman heaped praise on Marouane Fellaini after his impressive display for Manchester United in their 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Red Devils secured a comprehensive victory over the Eagles to move top of the Premier League table ahead of Manchester City’s clash with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge later this evening.
Manchester United took the lead in just the third minute at Old Trafford when Juan Mata fired home from 10 yards after being found by Marcus Rashford.
Fellaini then made it 2-0 to the hosts in the 35th minute when he scored from close range to put Jose Mourinho’s men in control.
And the Belgium international then made it 3-0 shortly after half-time with a header after some poor defending from Palace, before Romelu Lukaku continued his fine start by netting a fourth late on.
Osman played alongside Fellaini during the pair’s time at Everton together – and he feels that Mourinho is bringing the best out of the midfielder.
“He’s playing in a midfield role deeper than he ever did when I played with him at Everton – we played him in a more advanced role,” Osman told BBC Sport’s Final Score on Saturday.
“Since Mata’s come in, he’s found himself in the six-yard box and he scored twice today from in there.
“He’s got a new lease of life this season under Jose Mourinho.”
Manchester United now turn their attentions towards preparing for their crunch clash with Liverpool at Anfield after the international break on Saturday 14 October.
The Red Devils are aiming to win the Premier League title this season after having finished sixth in the table under Mourinho last season.
