Juan Mata has promised Manchester United supporters that Jose Mourinho’s team won’t relax despite facing the Premier League’s basement club Crystal Palace this weekend.

The Red Devils will return to Premier League action with what looks like a routine game at Old Trafford when they face Roy Hodgson’s side in pursuit of a sixth win.

Crystal Palace suffered a chastening 5-0 loss to Manchester United’s title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium last weekend.

Manchester United have already won 4-0 against West Ham United, Swansea City and Everton in the Premier League this season.

The Red Devils have also beaten Leicester City and Southampton to barely put a foot wrong in the title race so far, aside from a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.

However, Spanish midfielder Mata isn’t underestimating the threat posed by Palace despite their miserable run of form in the Premier League.

“Then on the weekend we will go back to the Premier League at home against Crystal Palace,” Mata wrote on his personal blog.

“They haven’t had a good start so far but that can be tricky.

“They have a skilled squad and I can tell you we will not relax. Last Wednesday, in the League Cup, we gave a good example of how to approach a game fully focused and motivated.

“That’s the way to go in order to get as close to our goals as possible.”

Crystal Palace are without point in the Premier League after six games so far this season.

Indeed, the Eagles sacked Ajax legend Frank de Boer and appointed Hodgson as their new manager earlier this month.
