Michael Owen says he doesn’t expect Crystal Palace to cause Manchester United any problems at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils will welcome the Premier League’s worst team to the Theatre of Dreams as Manchester United look to hoist themselves to the top of the table ahead of Manchester City’s clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

Manchester United have collected 16 points from their opening six games and have scored an impressive 17 goals and conceded just twice to underline their status as genuine title contenders this season.

Crystal Palace sacked Frank De Boer earlier this month following a disastrous start to the season and the Eagles are still without a single point in the Premier League despite Roy Hodgson’s appointment as manager.

Former Manchester United striker Owen is backing Manchester United to win to nil against Hodgson’s men when Palace make the daunting trip to Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

“It doesn’t get any easier for Crystal Palace, who remain bottom of the Premier League table after six successive defeats this term,” Owen told BetVictor.

“Palace are 20/1 with BetVictor to cause an upset at Old Trafford but I can’t see anything bar a comfortable home win but Roy Hodgson needs points, and fast, to get the club out of trouble.”

Manchester United signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League last season but ended up in sixth place in the Premier League table in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge.
