Gary Neville praises Jesse Lingard for the strong impact he had when coming on as a substitute in Manchester United's 4-0 win over Everton

Gary Neville praised Jesse Lingard for the impact he had when coming on as a substitute during Manchester United’s 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.
The England international started the game on the bench for the Red Devils but came on to play the final 29 minutes at Old Trafford as Jose Mourinho’s men wrapped up an impressive victory over the Toffees.
Lingard notched up an assist as goals from Antonio Valencia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial secured another three points for the Red Devils.
And former Manchester United defender Neville was impressed by the impact Lingard had for the Red Devils when he came on in the second half at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports after Sunday’s game, Neville said: “Lingard injected quite a bit of energy into the team, I thought.
“It didn’t quite fall for him but he injected something. Things started to happen for him and he was involved a lot and made them better.”
Manchester United return to action on Wednesday night when they host Burton in the third round of the League Cup at Old Trafford.
Mourinho will then look to prepare his team for their Premier League trip to Southampton on Saturday as the Red Devils look to continue their strong start to the new season.
Manchester United are currently joint top of the Premier League table along with local rivals Manchester City after five games.
