Louis Saha has revealed that some of the Manchester United players have told him that they are enjoying playing under Jose Mourinho.

The Portuguese coach was appointed as the new Manchester United manager back in May 2016 after Louis van Gaal failed to steer the Red Devils back into the top four.

Mourinho has been tasked with becoming the first Manchester United boss since Sir Alex Ferguson to win the Premier League and the Champions League following their barren spell.

While the 20-time English champions finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term, the Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League to secure some silverware.

Manchester United have already made an impressive start to the current campaign following a return of three victories and one draw in their opening four Premier League games.

Former Manchester United striker Saha addressed some of the similarities between Ferguson and Mourinho as the retired France striker praised the Portuguese coach’s new approach to management.

“I hear a lot of good stuff from players. They really like to play under Jose Mourinho, but I don’t know his style from the inside,” Saha told BetStars.

“So it’s really complicated for me to answer this but what I know is that they’re two managers that are obsessed with improving their players, their team and their club. What I like to see as well is the innovation.

“They understand that from time to time when you move from certain areas, and certain eras as well, you have to change things and I think Mourinho has changed over the years because his management style was demanding, asking for full control. But he arrived at the club with humility I think, a new style.”

Manchester United will take on another of Saha’s former clubs Everton in their next Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The Red Devils signed Victor Lindelof, Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic this summer.
