Juan Mata says the Manchester United squad is refusing to get carried away with their impressive start to the Premier League season.

The Red Devils remained unbeaten following a 4-0 victory over Everton at Old Trafford on Sunday courtesy of goals from Antonio Valencia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.

Manchester United have already scored 16 goals in five Premier League games thanks in part to Lukaku’s return of five goals to start his Manchester United career in a rich vein of form.

The 20-time English champions’ only blemish on their otherwise perfect record is a 2-2 draw with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium earlier this month.

The Reds Devils are sitting at the top of the Premier League table but have an identical record with their bitter rivals Manchester City in second place.

But Mata revealed that the Manchester United dressing room is remaining calm despite their impressive start to the 2017-18 campaign.

“We are happy, for sure, but we keep the euphoria away from the dressing room,” Mata wrote on his personal blog. “Inside, we remain calm, with our feet firmly on the ground.

“We haven’t won anything yet, this is just the beginning and with such a busy schedule there’s no time to slow down and relax.”

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table last term but managed to get their hands on both the EFL Cup and the Europa League trophy.

The Red Devils signed Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof in the summer transfer window.
