Ander Herrera has revealed that he has been following Manchester United since he was a young boy and admits he loves playing for the Red Devils.

The Spanish midfielder is a firm favourite amongst Manchester United supporters and he played a key role in helping the Red Devils win the Europa League and EFL Cup in Jose Mourinho’s first campaign in charge last season.

Herrera joined Manchester United from Spanish side Athletic Bilbao in June 2014 and he has established himself as something of a regular fixture in the team at Old Trafford.

And the Spanish midfielder has revealed that it has always been his dream to play for Manchester United as he looks to achieve more success with the Red Devils.

Herrera told Manchester United’s website: “When I was a kid, I used to watch United games, big teams’ games, and I wanted to be there.

“Now, I have the chance to be there and play for the greatest club in England and one of the greatest in the world.

“I just try to enjoy the moment; every day, I wake up I try to say ‘thank you’ to all the people who helped me to be here. I don’t want it to finish – I love what we do.”

Herrera will be hoping to feature for the Red Devils when Manchester United take on Everton in their Premier League clash at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

The 28-year-old, though, has only started one Premier League game and made one appearance from the bench for the Red Devils in the top flight so far this season.

Manchester United are currently top of the Premier League table after taking 10 points from their opening four games.
