Ashley Young has challenged Manchester United to win every competition they are in this season.

The Red Devils have made a strong start to the new campaign under Jose Mourinho following his appointment at Old Trafford in May of last year.

Manchester United struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League last term but Mourinho’s men have been much improved this season and are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Mourinho’s men have also made a strong start to life back in the Champions League, after having won their opening two group games against Basel and CSKA Moscow.

Manchester United now turn their attentions back towards Premier League affairs and their home clash against Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.

And Young says that the Red Devils are confident that they will be able to challenge for honours across the board this season.

Young is quoted as saying by Sky Sports: “Everyone wants to win every competition we are in.

“There’s not a competition that we are going to prioritise. We want to go at it on all fronts, whether that be in Europe or domestically.

“We were delighted to win what we did last season but if we can add the Premier League, the League Cup again or the FA Cup, or Champions League then, of course, you play in these big competitions to go and win them.

“That is exactly what we are looking to do and I think we’ve got the squad to do it.”

Manchester United finished sixth in the Premier League but won both the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first campaign at the club last season.

The Red Devil shave not won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge in 2013.
