Danny Mills lavished praise on Manchester United’s attacking line-up after their impressive thrashing of Burton in the third round of the League Cup on Wednesday night.

Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United team have been in fine form so far this season and headed into the game on the back of their 4-0 thrashing of Everton last weekend in the Premier League.

Marcus Rashford scored twice in the opening 17 minutes at Old Trafford to put Mourinho’s men ahead, before Jesse Lingard added another goal before half-time in the 36th minute.

Anthony Martial then netted a fourth on the hour-mark for Mourinho’s side as they booked their place in the fourth round of the competition in style with another thumping victory.

Lloyd Dyer netted a late consolation for the visiting team at Old Trafford.

And former defender Mills was clearly impressed with what he has been seeing from Manchester United’s attacking players.

Mills said on BBC Radio 5 live: “Pace, power and speed…

“Manchester United are devastating going forward.”

Manchester United are currently joint top of the Premier League table on goal difference as they look to try and win the title this season.

The Red Devils, who finished in sixth place last term but won both the Europa League and League Cup, are now preparing for their Premier League trip to St Mary’s to take on Southampton on Saturday afternoon.
