Henrikh Mkhitaryan has revealed that he has been working harder than ever to make sure he is ready to compete at the highest level for Manchester United in the Premier League this season.

The Armenia international made something of a slow start to life as a Manchester United player following his transfer to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

However, Mkhitaryan seemed to adapt to the rigours of the Premier League in the second half of the campaign and his form considerably improved in the new year.

The playmaker has been in top form for the Red Devils this season so far and he has scored one goal and made five assists in six Premier League outings.

Mkhitaryan will be hoping to feature for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on CSKA Moscow in the Champions League on Wednesday night.

And asked whether he felt his form in the Europa League was better than in the Premier League last season, Mkhitaryan told a news conference on Wednesday: “I think that was last season. This season is different.

“I am working very hard in training, to be ready for Premier League games.

“I have started the season well and I am doing my best to help the team.”

Manchester United are currently joint top of the Premier League table after having won five of their opening six games.

The Red Devils host Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
