Jose Mourinho has challenged Henrikh Mkhitaryan to become the creative force behind Manchester United’s Premier League title bid this season, according to reports.

ESPN FC is claiming that the Portuguese coach has told the 28-year-old Armenia international that he wants more from the playmaker as the Red Devils look to try and win the Premier League this season.

The same report claims that Mourinho believes that Mkhitaryan must “do more” as he looks to steer Manchester United to their first Premier League title since 2013 this season.

Most Manchester United fans would agree that Mkhitaryan has made a strong start to the Premier League season, with the attacker having made five assists in three games to help the Red Devils top the Premier League table.

But according to the same story, Mourinho still harbours doubts about Mkhitaryan’s ability to influence the big games.

Manchester United have won all three of their opening Premier League games this season as they look to try and win the title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.

The Red Devils return to Premier League action on Saturday with a trip to the bet365 Stadium to take on Stoke City.
