Ian Wright believes Manchester United are finally starting to produce Jose Mourinho football.
The Portuguese coach was appointed as Louis van Gaal’s successor in May 2016 following Manchester United’s sixth-place finish last term.
The Red Devils won the EFL Cup and the Europa League in Mourinho’s first season in charge to secure a return to the Champions League.
Mourinho signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
Manchester United are sitting joint top of the Premier League table following a return of four victories and one stalemate this term.
The Red Devils were 4-0 winners against Everton at Old Trafford last weekend thanks to goals from Antonio Valencia, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Romelu Lukaku and Anthony Martial.
Former Arsenal striker Wright believes Mourinho is finally getting his Manchester United team to play his type of football.
“I believe Manchester United have gone through Moyes and Van Gaal,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“It has taken him a couple of years to get the players he wants.
“Now he’s trying to get a stage where you are playing the kind of football he wants.”
Manchester United are looking to win their first Premier League title since their 2013 triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Red Devils have won the EFL Cup, Europa League and the FA Cup since Ferguson stood down as manager four years ago.
