Martin Keown admits Jose Mourinho isn’t very likeable when Manchester United are struggling.

The Red Devils boss refused to shake Mark Hughes’ hand at the bet365 Stadium last weekend after Stoke City held Manchester United to a 2-2 draw.

Hughes’ side managed to end Manchester United’s 100 per cent start to the Premier League season under Mourinho after victories over Swansea City, West Ham and Leicester City.

Mourinho has been in good form in the opening weeks of the Premier League campaign but the first cracks started to appear in their 2-2 draw at Stoke.

Former Arsenal legend Keown admitted that Mourinho tends to show a different side when things aren’t going too well for the Manchester United manager.

“Jose Mourinho can be very likeable when he’s winning. When he isn’t, another side to him quickly emerges,” Keown wrote in his Daily Mail column.

Manchester United finished in sixth place in the Premier League table to miss out on an automatic spot in the Champions League.

However, the Red Devils qualified for Europe’s premier club competition thanks to a 2-0 win against Ajax in the Europa League final in Stockholm back in May.

Mourinho’s side made a winning start to their Champions League thanks to a 3-0 win against Swiss side Basel in the group stage.

The Red Devils have won three of their four games in the Premier League so far.
