Ian Wright sends message to Man United fans about Phil Jones
The Arsenal legend is happy to see Phil Jones established himself as a first-choice defender at Manchester United

Ian Wright has heaped praise on Manchester United defender Phil Jones for his impressive start to the season.
The Red Devils haven’t conceded a goal in their opening three Premier League games ahead of their trip to Stoke City on Saturday evening.
Jones has struck up a formidable partnership with Ivory Coast international Eric Bailly to help Jose Mourinho’s defence ease into the new campaign.
The England international was injured for large parts of the 2016-17 campaign as the Manchester United manager was forced to contend with an injury crisis at the back.
However, the 25-year-old did form a good partnership with Argentina defender Marcos Rojo before the former Sporting Lisbon star suffered a season-ending injury.
Jones moved to Manchester United as a prodigious 18-year-old talent from Blackburn Rovers but injuries have prevented the centre-half from establishing himself as a first team regular.
But Arsenal legend Wright is encouraged to see Jones’ positive start to the new Premier League campaign.
“He has had some injuries that have stunted his growth,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“He was supposed to be the next Duncan Edwards. It is great to see someone like Phil Jones playing alongside Eric Bailly. They look great after three games but we have to judge them after 30 games.”
Manchester United signed Sweden defender Victor Lindelof in a £30m deal from Portuguese giants Benfica this summer.
