Phil Neville believes Manchester United are capable of winning the quadruple this season.

The Red Devils have made a strong start to the Premier League season following a return of 13 points from their opening five games.

Manchester United have already scored an impressive 16 goals in the current domestic campaign to move level on points with leaders Manchester City.

Indeed, the two Manchester clubs look set to battle it out of the Premier League crown given their impressive starts to the 2017-18 campaign.

Mourinho’s side were 3-0 winners against Swiss side Basel in their Champions League group stage opener at Old Trafford last week.

The Red Devils made wholesale changes to his Manchester United team for their League Cup opener on Wednesday night.

However, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford helped the Red Devils to ease to a comfortable 4-1 win against Burton Albion in the third round.

Asked whether an unprecedented quadruple was a realistic possibility for Manchester United this season, Neville told Sky Sports:

“I think when you talk about ‘can United go on all four fronts?‘, I think with this squad, I think they can.”

Neville, alongside his older brother Gary, was part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s team that won the treble in 1999.

Manchester United won the Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions League to make British football history.
