Jamie Redknapp: Why Man United signing will score more goals than Harry Kane this season
The former Liverpool captain is backing Man United striker Romelu Lukaku to finish ahead of Tottenham's Harry Kane in goal-scoring charts

Jamie Redknapp is backing Romelu Lukaku to finish as the Premier League’s top goal-scorer ahead of Harry Kane.
The Tottenham Hotspur centre-forward scored twice in a 3-2 victory over West Ham United in the derby at the London Stadium in Saturday’s early kick-off.
Kane failed to get on the score sheet in Tottenham’s opening three Premier League games in August but the Spurs talisman has now scored four goals in six appearances.
The Belgium international moved to Manchester United in a £75m switch from Everton in the summer transfer window after the Red Devils managed to hijack a deal for the 24-year-old striker.
Lukaku scored a 20th-minute winner in Manchester United’s close-fought 1-0 victory over Southampton at St Mary’s in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The 24-year-old striker has now scored six goals in six games in the Premier League so far this season to justify his transfer fee.
Kane finished as the Premier League’s leading goal-scorer last season after netting 29 times in 30 outings to end up four goals ahead of Lukaku.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham captain Redknapp believes Lukaku will finish ahead of the England international in the goal-scoring charts this term.
“Lukaku looks the most likely to be crowned as top scorer come May,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“In fact, he should have won it last year at Everton. Until Kane’s end-of-season blitz, he was leading the way.
“While he could use his natural body strength better, Lukaku is so difficult to match stride for stride over long distances. He is central to this exciting, creative Manchester United team. With the abundance of chances served up for him, Lukaku should score even more.
“So while Kane comes out on top in my assessment of the Fab Four forwards’ attributes, I think Lukaku will pip him to the Golden Boot this season.”
Lukaku is the second most expensive signing in Manchester United’s history.
