Roy Keane is backing Romelu Lukaku to score 25 to 30 goals for Manchester United this season.

The Red Devils signed the Belgium international in a £75m deal from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.

The Manchester United striker has hit the ground running following a return of six goals in six games in the Premier League this season.

Lukaku has already dispelled concerns about the 24-year-old’s ability to step up to the mark at a top European club following his prolific form at Everton.

The Belgian forward scored 25 times in 36 games in the Premier League last season for the Toffees to attract interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Lukaku has already netted 10 goals in the 2017-18 season so far following the Manchester United striker’s double in a 4-1 win at CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night.

Former Manchester United captain Keane is confident Lukaku will hit the 25-goal mark in his first season at Old Trafford.

“You look at his record at Everton, and he’s gone to a much better team. It’s so obvious he’s going to get 25-30 goals this season,” Keane told ITV Sport on Wednesday night.

Manchester United will host Crystal Palace in the Premier League at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are level on points with Manchester City at the top of the table after six games.

Manchester United signed three players in the summer transfer window.
