Jose Mourinho sends clear message to fans about Man United’s forgotten man
Jose Mourinho delivers the latest news on Luke Shaw at Manchester United this season

Jose Mourinho has told Luke Shaw that he must improve if he wants to have any chance of breaking into the first team at Manchester United this season.
The 22-year-old made his first appearance of the season last week when he played the second half of Manchester United’s 4-1 League Cup win over Burton Albion at Old Trafford.
Shaw has found his first-team opportunities under Mourinho to be severely limited since the Portuguese coach was appointed at Old Trafford last May.
The defender was also publicly criticised by the new Manchester United boss as he worked his way back towards full fitness following a serious leg injury.
Shaw then missed the closing stages of last season with a foot problem and he has not featured in the Premier League for the Red Devils so far this term.
Mourinho has now challenged Shaw to step his game up as he looks to break into the first team in the coming weeks and months.
The Manchester United manager told a news conference on Friday afternoon: “He has to work.
“You [media] saw the [Burton] game, you saw the same as I see, so are you asking if he plays tomorrow? No, he is not playing tomorrow. He has to work. He has to improve.
“Look, he doesn’t play for six months. I am not expecting him to arrive on Wednesday and to be man of the match or to be running up and down for 45 minutes.
“It’s just a process. He doesn’t play for a long, long time.”
Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League title this season after having finished sixth in the table last term.
However, Mourinho did lead the Red Devils to League Cup and Europa League glory last season.
