Top 26-year-old winger tried to force Man United transfer on deadline day – report
Royad Mahrez tried to force through a transfer to Manchester United from Leicester City, according to reports

Riyad Mahrez tried to force a transfer to Manchester United from Leicester City on deadline day last week, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Star is reporting that the winger was given permission to leave Algeria’s World Cup squad to try and finalise a move away from the King Power Stadium – but a transfer failed to materialise before the deadline.
Mahrez had made it clear that he was keen to leave Leicester City throughout the summer and was touted as a possible target for Arsenal and Roma.
According to the report, the 26-year-old left his national team under the impression that a transfer had been lined up for him, but that was not the case as Leicester received no offer for the player.
The same story says that Mahrez’s representatives were trying to force through a move to Old Trafford after the Red Devils failed to conclude a deal for their number one target Ivan Perisic.
Perisic was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford from Inter Milan throughout the summer but the switch failed to materialise.
Mahrez, meanwhile, did not secure a move away from Leicester and will remain with the Foxes until January at the earliest.
