The 24-year-old has hit the ground running at Old Trafford after signing for the Red Devils from Everton back in July as Jose Mourinho moved quickly to add more firepower to his squad.
Lukaku has been a regular fixture in the first team and has scored nine goals in eight games in all competitions for his new club so far.
He netted twice in Manchester United’s 4-1 win over CSKA Moscow in the Champions League in Russia on Wednesday night to continue his fine start.
However, former Manchester United star Owen feels that Lukaku is not one of the best finishers around, although he praised his physical style of play.
Speaking on BT Sport on Wednesday night, Owen said: “He’s a decent finisher, I wouldn’t say he’s an exceptional finisher.
“Just because of his sheer size and power, half the time he doesn’t have to move.
“He almost barges people out of the way and he’s the modern-day striker for the formations that teams are playing nowadays.”
Manchester United return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
Mourinho is aiming to be the first manager to lead Manchester United to the Premier League title since their final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
Manchester United did, though, win the Europa League and League Cup under Mourinho last season.
