Owen Hargreaves believes that Romelu Lukaku is on course to score more than 30 goals for Manchester United this season following his brilliant start to life at Old Trafford.

The 24-year-old has been in superb form for Jose Mourinho’s men since signing for the Red Devils from Everton back in July.

Lukaku has been a regular starter in the Manchester United team and has scored nine goals in eight games in all competitions so far this season.

The Belgian striker looks like he is having no problems in adapting to life at Old Trafford following his move from the Toffees.

And former Manchester United midfielder Hargreaves is backing the striker to enjoy a very successful first season at Old Trafford.

Speaking to BT Sport, Hargreaves said: “He is very hard-working.

“He doesn’t have to do too much [to score lots of goals]. He just gets in the box. He is too big and too strong. They’re getting a lot of early deliveries into him.

“I think he is going to get 30 goals at least this season.”

Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League title this season after the disappointment of their sixth-placed finish last term.

The Red Devils did, however, win both the Europa League and League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge last term.

Lukaku will be expecting to start for Manchester United when the Red Devils take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford in their next Premier League game on Saturday afternoon.

The Red Devils are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City.
