Paul Merson: I’m not convinced by new Man United signing
Paul Merson is not convinced by Manchester United's signing of defender Victor Lindelof

Paul Merson has admitted that he is “not convinced” by Manchester United’s signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica this summer.
The Swedish defender became the Red Devils’ first signing of the summer back in June when he joined Manchester United to bolster Jose Mourinho’s rearguard options.
The 23-year-old is yet to make his first appearance for Manchester United in the Premier League after Mourinho opted to pair Eric Bailly with Phil Jones in the heart of the team’s defence.
Mourinho revealed last month that Lindelof would definitely be starting Manchester United’s Champions League clash against Basel because both Bailly and Jones will be absent due to suspension.
However, although Merson was very impressed by Manchester United’s transfer business during the summer, he has questioned whether Lindelof has the quality the Red Devils need.
Merson told Sky Sports: “I’m not convinced by Victor Lindelof at all, but Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic are very, very good signings.
“They are two players that they needed and they will make a massive difference to that team.
“They look like a completely different team with those two players in it and they could be the players to win the Premier League for them.”
Manchester United have made a flying start to the new Premier League season, having won all three of their opening games and scoring 10 goals without reply.
The Red Devils return to Premier League action after the international break when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium next weekend.
Manchester United won the Europa League and EFL Cup last season but finished sixth in the Premier League.
