Ander Herrera replies when asked if Man United will keep David De Gea
The Manchester United midfielder is confident David De Gea will remain at Old Trafford despite interest from Real Madrid in recent seasons

Ander Herrera is confident that David De Gea wants to stay at Manchester United.
The Spanish goalkeeper has made a positive start to the 2017-18 season despite Manchester United keeping four clean sheets in their five Premier League games.
De Gea produced his best performance in a 2-2 draw with Stoke City after the Red Devils shot stopper made a brilliant save to deny compatriot Jese Rodriguez.
The 25-year-old has been regularly linked with a move to Real Madrid over the past few seasons but a transfer has failed to materialise despite coming very close to a switch to The Bernabeu in 2015.
Jose Mourinho confirmed De Gea would remain a Manchester United player beyond the most recent summer transfer window despite speculation suggesting Zinedine Zidane wanted to sign the Spain international.
Herrera has confirmed that the Manchester United number one sees his long-term future at Old Trafford despite the understandable lure of a switch to Champions League holders Real Madrid,
“We’re going to enjoy having him here and try to keep him at the club for as long as possible,” Herrera told the Daily Star.
“I think he wants to be a legend at the club, which is important for us. If he’s not a legend already, he’s not too far away from being one of the legends of the club.
“I can see him staying here for more years. We need to win titles to keep him with us and that’s what we did last season. David is really happy at the moment because we’re fighting for everything.
“We won three titles last season, the FA Cup the year before, and that’s what he wants.
“Real Madrid are going to talk about it every summer, because he’s the best keeper in the world. But we don’t think we’re far from Real Madrid – we won three titles last season, the only English team to do it. We’re going to fight for everything. I just try to watch him and enjoy it. He’s incredible.”
Manchester United are sitting at the top of the Premier League table alongside Manchester City following a return of 13 points from five games.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2012-13 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his final Premier League title before he retired.
