Man United call Serie A club to ask about 16-year-old – report
Manchester United have got in touch with Genoa about the possibility of signing Pietro Pellegri, according to reports in Italy

Manchester United are interested in signing Genoa teenager Pietro Pellegri after his impressive start to life in Serie A, according to reports in Italy.
Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Red Devils are weighing up a potential move to sign the 16-year-old striker, who has taken Italy by storm.
The same article states that Genoa have received phone calls from Manchester United as well as Serie A duo AC Milan and Juventus after Pellegri became the youngest-ever player to score two goals in an Italian top flight game.
Pellegri scored twice in Genoa’s 3-2 loss to Lazio which left his father and his assistant manager in tears, while prompting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
Manchester United signed Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku in a £75m deal from Everton in the summer transfer window despite interest from his former club Chelsea.
Pellegri is the joint youngest-ever player to feature in Serie A after making his debut at the age of 15 years and 280 days, he equalled the record of Amedeo Amadei.
The Genoa striker became the first player born in 2001 to score in Serie A when Pellegri netted an away goal at AS Roma back in May.
