Paul Merson predicts the outcome of Chelsea v Man City
The Arsenal legend Paul Merson is backing Chelsea and Manchester City to share the spoils on Saturday evening

Paul Merson has admitted that he can’t seperate Chelsea and Manchester City ahead of their Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
The defending champions will host the Premier League leaders following Chelsea’s 2-1 win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The Blues came from behind to secure three points thanks to goals from strikers Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi as Antonio Conte’s men laid down a marker in Europe.
Manchester City are the form team in the Premier League after scoring an incredible 16 goals in three top-flight outings to secure top spot in the table.
The Citizens were 2-0 winners against Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night to secure another three points.
Former Arsenal midfielder Merson believes Chelsea and Manchester City will share the spoils in the Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.
“I cannot separate these two sides so I’m going for a 1-1 draw,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“It should be a great game. Chelsea’s win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday was one of the best performances I’ve seen away from home in Europe for a long time.
“This is another big game for Chelsea though. We expect United to win at home to Palace and that would mean Chelsea would be six points behind them before kick-off at Stamford Bridge.
“I know it’s still early in the season but that is still a lot of points. Because of that I think both sides being happy with a draw.”
Chelsea beat Manchester City at The Etihad and at Stamford Bridge last season en route to winning the Premier League title in Conte’s first season in charge at the west London club.
The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to bolster their squad ahead of a return to the Champions League.
