Mark Lawrenson states his prediction for Southampton v Man United
The former Liverpool defender is backing Manchester United to ease to a comfortable 2-0 win against Southampton on Saturday afternoon

Mark Lawrenson is backing Manchester United to ease to a comfortable 2-0 win against Southampton on Saturday.
The Red Devils are looking to extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League to six games following an impressive start to the 2017-18 season.
Manchester United have already beaten West Ham, Swansea City and Everton by a four-goal margin in the English top-flight so far this term.
Jose Mourinho’s have only dropped points in a 2-2 draw with Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium in their first game since the international break.
Southampton have made a solid if unspectacular start to Mauricio Pellegrini’s career after a return of eight points from five games so far.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson is backing Manchester United to ease to an emphatic 2-0 victory over the Saints at St Mary’s on Saturday afternoon.
“Quietly and – in terms of the number of goals they have scored – unspectacularly, Southampton are doing alright, with two wins and two draws from their first five games,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.
“Saints do not give much away but it is hard to keep this Manchester United side quiet.
“I am expecting United to dominate this game and create lots of chances. Eventually they will find a way through.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson led the Red Devils to his 13th top-flight crown.
Mourinho led the 20-time English champions to a sixth-place finish in the Premier League last season but won the EFL Cup and the FA Cup.
Manchester United signed Benfica defender Victor Lindelof, Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic and Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in the summer transfer window.
