Jose Mourinho has warned his Manchester United players that they are in for a stern test when they take on Stoke City in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Red Devils head into the game looking to continue their fine start to the new Premier League season.

Mourinho’s men have won all three of their opening games to leave them top of the Premier League table as the division’s early pace-setters.

Manchester United have scored 10 goals without reply in their victories over West Ham, Swansea and Leicester.

However, Mourinho is under no illusions about the task that awaits his side at the bet365 Stadium, with Stoke already having beaten Arsenal at home this season.

Mourinho told his pre-match news conference on Friday afternoon: “Stoke are difficult [to play against], they are aggressive, they defend with a lot of people, and they are dangerous in set-pieces.

“It’s a stadium that puts a lot of pressure [on] too. So, I think it’s going to be difficult again.

“Hopefully, we can be better than in previous years and win but difficult it is going to be, for sure.”

Manchester United are aiming to win the Premier League title for the first time since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement at the end of the 2012-13 season.

The Red Devils finished sixth and won the EFL Cup and Europa League last term.
