Thierry Henry sends classy message to four Arsenal players
The Arsenal legend dedicates a message to Josh Da Silva, Eddie Nketiah, Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson
Thierry Henry may no longer be coaching some of Arsenal’s rising talents but the Gunners legend is keeping a close eye on their development at The Emirates.
The former France international worked with Arsenal’s Under-18 team as the Premier League legend completed his Uefa A coaching license.
However, Arsene Wenger informed Henry that taking up a permanent position would be a full-time role and the Arsenal record goal-scorer would have to quit his television commitments.
But the World Cup winner opted to start his coaching career with the Belgium national team under manager Roberto Martinez after Wenger turned down Henry’s offer to work for free at Arsenal.
Henry, who has been critical of the Gunners over the past 12 months or so in his capacity as a Sky Sports analyst, sent a message of good luck with four Arsenal youngsters ahead of their home clash against Doncaster Rovers in the League Cup third round.
Henry wrote on his Twitter page:
“Good luck @joshdasilva_ ,@EddieNketiah9,@joewillock,hope you get your [email protected] if you start #makeitcount.I’ll be there watching!”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season but won the FA Cup thanks to a 2-1 win against Chelsea at Wembley.
The Gunners signed Alexandre Lacazette and Sead Kolasinac in the summer transfer window.
