Paul Merson is confident Arsenal will ease to a comfortable win against Brighton at The Emirates on Sunday’s early kick-off in the Premier League.

The Gunners will host the promoted club in the Premier League in search of another three points and close the gap on their title rivals.

The north London side were 2-0 winners against West Brom at The Emirates on Monday night thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette either side of half-time.

Arsenal have a 100 per cent record in north London so far this season thanks to victories over Leicester City, Bournemouth and West Brom to turn the Emirates Stadium back into a fortress.

The Gunners are in seven place and six points behind current leaders Manchester City after six games following defeats at Stoke City and Liverpool.

Brighton, meanwhile, recorded their second Premier League win of the season last weekend thanks to a 1-0 win against Newcastle United.

Former Arsenal midfielder Merson is tipping Arsene Wenger’s men to ease to a 3-0 victory over Brighton at The Emirates in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

“Arsenal’s trip to Belarus in the Europa League should not get in the way of three points against Brighton,” Merson told Sky Sports.

“However Arsene Wenger can’t take underestimate Chris Hughton’s side. That’s where some managers are coming unstuck at the moment, taking teams lightly.

“We saw that when Tottenham played Swansea at Wembley with Heung-min Son playing left wing-back and Liverpool making six changes against Burnley. You have to play your best team and if they do the Gunners should win easily.”

Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season to miss out on a spot in the Champions League for the first time under Wenger.
