Piers Morgan hailed Alexandre Lacazette’s cool finish as Arsenal came from behind to claim a 5-2 victory at Everton in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

Summer signing Wayne Rooney had given the Toffees the lead in the 12th minute at Goodison Park but Arsene Wenger’s men equalised before the break thanks to Nacho Monreal’s goal.

Mesut Ozil then put Arsenal ahead in the 53rd minute with a header, before summer signing Lacazette made it 3-1 to the Gunners in the 74th minute with a clinical finish.

Aaron Ramsey then added a fourth late on to add gloss to the scoreline at Goodison Park, before Oumar Niasse netted a late consolation for the hosts.

Alexis Sanchez then netted a fifth for the Gunners to complete the scoring.

Lacazette has been in fine form since signing for Arsenal from Lyon back in July, with the French striker now having scored five goals in his first eight games in the Premier League.

And celebrity Arsenal fan Morgan was clearly impressed by what he has seen from Lacazette so far, as he wrote on Twitter after his goal: “3-1. Lacazette’s such a calm, clinical finisher. #EFCvAFC.”

The victory left Arsenal in fifth place in the Premier League table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after nine games of the new campaign.

Arsenal are aiming to break back into the top four this season after their fifth-placed finish in the top flight last term meant that they missed out on Champions League qualification this time around.
