Alexandre Lacazette reveals plan to get former Man United target to sign for Arsenal
Alexandre Lacazette admits that he wants to get Antoine Griezmann to sign for Arsenal in the future
Alexandre Lacazette has revealed that he will try and convince Antoine Griezmann to snub a move to Manchester United and join Arsenal if he leaves Atletico Madrid.
Griezmann was heavily linked with a transfer to Manchester United during the summer window but a move failed to materialise for the France international as he ended up staying at the Spanish club.
It remains to be seen whether Griezmann will push for a transfer away from Atletico after the Spanish club’s transfer ban is lifted in January.
Lacazette knows Griezmann well from the pair’s time together playing for France on international duty.
And the new Arsenal signing has revealed that he will do everything he can to try and get the 26-year-old attacker to sign for the Gunners in the future.
Speaking to Match of the Day magazine, Lacazette said: “Yeah [Griezmann is my best mate], we are very good friends and have lots of fun.
“Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I’m going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!”
Lacazette will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Watford.
The north London side have been in improved form in recent weeks and moved up into fifth place in the table thanks to their 2-0 victory over Brighton at The Emirates on Sunday.
Lacazette will be hoping to help Arsenal break back into the top four and challenge for the title this season.
