Michael Owen: Why Arsenal star must start alongside Alexandre Lacazette
Michael Owen reckons that Arsene Wenger should play Alexandre Lacazette alongside Olivier Giroud for Arsenal

Michael Owen believes that Arsenal should give Alexandre Lacazette a regular run in the first team alongside Olivier Giroud.
Lacazette has made a strong start to life at Arsenal since his arrival at the club from Lyon back in the summer transfer window.
The 26-year-old has been a regular fixture in the first team at The Emirates and he has scored four goals in his first seven Premier League outings for Arsene Wenger’s men.
Wenger has largely been picking Lacazette ahead of Giroud for Arsenal this season, but former Liverpool striker Owen believes that the pair could complement each other well and urged the Frenchman to consider playing them both together from the start.
Speaking to BT Sport on Sunday, Owen said: “He [Lacazette] has scored a few goals already and he’s got a proven record.
“If anything, I think Arsene Wenger should bring Olivier Giroud on alongside him.
“Yes, he’s scored, yes he’s got confidence. But if you want someone who’s going to be as good as the Ian Wrights and Thierry Henrys, then you’ve really got to feed that confidence and make him feel at home here.”
Arsenal return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to Watford.
The north London side are currently in fifth place in the Premier League table and six points behind leaders Manchester City as they bid to try and mount a title challenge this season.
The Gunners are at least aiming to better their disappointing fifth-placed finish in the Premier League from last season as they missed out on a place in the Champions League for this term.
