The Wales international has been one of Arsene Wenger’s most consistent players over the past month or so following a tricky start to the 2017-18 Premier League season.
Ramsey has scored three goals and has made two assists in nine appearances in the Premier League this season to help the north London side get their challenge back on track.
Wenger has been utilising the Arsenal midfielder in a central role over the past month or so and the tactical switch appears to have paid dividend given his influential performances.
Former Liverpool and Tottenham star Redknapp believes Ramsey is fast becoming one of Arsenal’s key players in his new “Frank Lampard role”.
“Aaron Ramsey is thriving for Arsenal at the moment and it is because he is playing in his best central position,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail.
“Arsene Wenger needs to keep Ramsey in this ‘Frank Lampard’ role.
“Whenever the ball goes wide, Ramsey’s priority has to be to make those runs from deep and get into the box. He is tireless in midfield, covering more ground than any other Arsenal player in each of his last four starts.
“Time and again he digs this team out of holes.”
Arsenal are in fifth place in the Premier League table and nine points behind current leaders Manchester City.
The Gunners finished outside the Champions League spots last term following a disappointing Premier League campaign.
The north London side won the FA Cup last season thanks to a 2-1 victory over reigning Premier League champions Chelsea.
Indeed, Arsenal have won the domestic competition in three of the past four seasons to mask over their Premier League disappointments.
