Martin Keown sends exciting message about Arsenal signing’s potential under Arsene Wenger
The Arsenal legend believes Arsene Wenger can develop Alexandre Lacazette into a world-class striker at Arsenal

Martin Keown believes Arsene Wenger is capable of transforming Alexandre Lacazette into a world-class striker like the Arsenal manager did with Thierry Herny and Robin van Persie.
The Gunners signed the France international in a £52m club-record deal from Ligue 1 side Lyon in the summer transfer window to bolster their attacking options.
Lacazette arrived at the north London club with a huge reputation from his time at Lyon after he scored 100 times in 203 appearances in Ligue 1.
The 26-year-old has adjusted to life in the Premier League pretty quickly after a return of four goals in six appearances in the English top flight.
Lacazette’s four Premier League goals have all come at the Emirates Stadium and the French striker scored twice in a 2-0 win against West Brom last week.
Wenger has a record of signing French strikers and turning them into world-class goal-scorers throughout his spell in charge of Arsenal.
Ex-Gunners defender Keown is confident that Lacazette can reach another level under the guidance of Wenger at The Emirates.
“If you think of the players Wenger has worked with and turned them into, like a young Henry coming to Arsenal and starting in a wide position,” Keown told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“Lacazette would have seen that. He has worked with Bergkamp and Anelka. They all end up better players for working with Wenger.”
Arsenal finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season to miss out on a Champions League spot.
