Arsenal are “plotting” a transfer move to try and sign Anthony Martial next summer, according to reports in the British media.

The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Gunners are interested in signing the 21-year-old French striker from their Premier League rivals.

The same report states that Arsenal are pondering making a move for Martial as the north London side prepare to lose Alexis Sanchez in one of the next two transfer windows.

Sanchez is in the final year of his contract at Arsenal and looks set to leave the Gunners either in January or next summer.

The same report claims that Arsene Wenger believes that Martial could be open to a transfer to London from Manchester United next summer.

However, despite the report, Martial has been in fine form for Manchester United so far this season, even if he has not been able to hold down a regular spot in the first team.

The forward has scored five goals and made six assists in all competitions for Jose Mourinho’s men this term.

Manchester United are currently second in the table and level on points with leaders Manchester City, while Arsenal are down in fifth place and six points behind Mourinho’s men.
