Martin Keown has lavished praise on Alexis Sanchez following his man of the match display in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Brighton in the Premier League at The Emirates on Sunday.

The Chile international was at his imperious best as he helped to inspire the Gunners to a comfortable victory over Chris Hughton’s men as the north London side moved up to fifth place in the Premier League table.

Sanchez set up Alex Iwobi’s goal in the second half with a brilliant backheel as Arsene Wenger’s men claimed the three points against the visitors.

The 28-year-old’s future was a relentless source of speculation throughout the summer transfer window, but he ended up staying at The Emirates, despite him entering into the final year of his contract.

Keown was full of praise for Sanchez’s performance but admits that he is not expecting to see him stay at Arsenal beyond this season.

Speaking during BT Sport’s coverage of the game on Sunday, Sanchez said: “Sanchez is just a wondrous talent.

“I don’t think he’s going to be an Arsenal player next season unfortunately.

“He’s a sensation, magical in his play. He just goes to another level, nobody else can touch him in this Arsenal team.”

Sanchez will be expecting to feature for Arsenal when the Gunners return to Premier League action after the international break with a clash against Watford at Vicarage Road.

The north London side are six points behind leaders Manchester City as they look to try to win the Premier League title this season.
