The Germany international was sidelined over the past few weeks due to a niggling knee injury.
The 28-year-old was sidelined for Arsenal’s goalless draw with defending Premier League champions Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last month with the mysterious knee problem.
The attacking midfielder returned as a late substitute in a 2-0 win against West Bromwich Albion before Ozil missed Arsenal’s 4-2 win against BATE Borisov in Belarus in the Europa League.
The World Cup winner was a noticeable absentee for Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Brighton at The Emirates in their last Premier League game before the international break.
Ozil didn’t link up with the German squad during the past fortnight and posted a series of videos updating Arsenal fans on his injury status in a clear attempt to prove that he was nearing a return to full fitness.
And the Arsenal midfielder took to Instagram to post the above photo from training on Friday ahead of this weekend’s trip to Watford.
Ozil, who came on as a substitute during the 2-1 loss to Watford on Saturday, wrote the following caption:
“The Watford match is just around the corner & I’m glad to have fully recovered during international break. 👍🏼💯⚽ #teamtraining #WFCvAFC #COYG @premierleague @arsenal”
Arsenal could lose Ozil for nothing next summer given the striker’s failure to sign a new deal with the north London club – so far.
