Arsenal want to sign winger Ademola Lookman from Everton in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Gunners are keen on making a move for the 19-year-old in the mid-season window as Arsene Wenger looks to bolster the firepower in his squad.

The same report says that Arsenal have been keeping tabs on Lookman and that the Gunners believe that he could be tempted by a transfer back down to London.

The story claims that Arsenal have been tracking Lookman for some time, and were keen on signing him before he left Charlton to sign for Everton.

It is also claimed that Wenger is looking for pace out wide amid the possible departures of Theo Walcott and Alexis Sanchez.

Arsenal have made something of a mixed start to the new season but have improved their form in recent weeks to move up to fifth place in the table.

They currently sit six points behind leaders Manchester City after seven games of the new campaign as they prepare for their trip to Watford in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Arsenal finished fifth in the table and won the FA Cup last season.
