Graeme Le Saux reacts to Eden Hazard’s goal in Chelsea v Bournemouth
The former Chelsea defender praises Eden Hazard for a precise finish against Bournemouth
Graeme Le Saux praised Eden Hazard for a precise finish in Chelsea’s 1-0 win at Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The Belgium international started his fourth Premier League game since recovering from a broken ankle at the Vitality Stadium.
Hazard has made a solid return to first-team action but was unable to help the defending champions avoid a sticky run of form.
The 26-year-old scored twice in a 3-3 draw with Serie A giants AS Roma in the Champions League to find some form.
And Hazard scored his third goal in four games with a brilliant goal to secure three points at Bournemouth.
Former Chelsea defender Le Saux praised Hazard for finding the net from a tight angle on the south coast.
“It’s an awful mistake by Francis,” Le Saux told MBCSN.
“The angle for Hazard is still very tight. He still had a lot of work to do. He hit it low and hard. The pace of the ball beats Begovic.”
Chelsea are nine points behind current leaders Manchester City.
Hazard scored 16 goals in Chelsea’s title-winning campaign last season as Antonio Conte won the Premier League crown in his first term at Stamford Bridge.
The Belgian forward has won the Premier League title twice in the past three seasons.
Chelsea signed Hazard in a big-money deal from French club Lille in the 2012 summer transfer window after the west London side won the Champions League title.
