Gary Neville believes that Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool could already be out of the Premier League title race this season.

Chelsea have been in stuttering form in recent weeks, with the Blues having lost their last two games in the top flight to leave them nine points behind leaders Manchester City in the table.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have also struggled to find consistent form and are also nine points behind top spot after just eight games of the new campaign.

Liverpool are in the same position, with Jurgen Klopp’s men nine points behind Manchester City heading into this weekend’s round of fixtures.

The two Manchester clubs have been the most consistent teams this season and look like they will be challengers for the title this term.

And former Manchester United defender Neville has revealed that he is already doubting Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool’s title credentials this term.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Neville said: “Arsenal? No. Chelsea look like they’re in a difficult moment and Liverpool are not quite there, either. So it is United and City.

“At the moment, City are looking in the better form – but United have got the maturity and I’m sure they will get through the winter months well, which can be key.”

Arsenal take on Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday, while Manchester United travel to Huddersfield and Liverpool take on Tottenham at Wembley.

Chelsea have won the Premier League title for two of the last three seasons, but they did not have the distraction of European football last term as they focused purely on domestic affairs.
