Frank Lampard has heaped praise on Eden Hazard following his man of the match performance in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Bournemouth on Saturday.

The Belgian playmaker continued his fine start to the new season when he scored the winner in the second half to hand Antonio Conte’s men all three points agains the Cherries.

Hazard has developed into one of European football’s finest players since his move to Chelsea from Lille back in 2012.

The 26-year-old is widely regarded as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents and he has already proved his worth to Chelsea with a string of top performances this season.

And Chelsea legend Lampard believes that Hazard deserves credit for the way he has stepped his game up at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons.

Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday night, Lampard said: “From the moment Hazard came to Chelsea his talent was on display, but he’s developed as a player.

“Now he’s at that point in his career when he has to be the dominant player in that Chelsea team and make things happen.

“And he’s doing it. We keep talking about trying to stay with the top teams who are flying and you need your best players to step up.”

Hazard will be hoping to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Champions League action on Tuesday night with a crunch clash against Roma in Italy.

The Blues, who are currently fourth in the Premier League table, then return to top-flight action next weekend when they take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in a crunch clash.
