Ian Wright admits he has been impressed with Alvaro Morata’s start to life at Chelsea.

The Spain international moved to Chelsea in a £58m deal from La Liga giants Real Madrid in the summer transfer window.

Morata has wasted no time having a positive impact on the Blues team following a return of six goals in his opening six fixtures in the Premier League.

The 24-year-old scored Chelsea’s equaliser in a 2-1 victory over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League in the Spanish capital on Wednesday night.

Morata’s best moment in his Chelsea career so far came at the bet365 Stadium as the Chelsea signing scored his first hat-trick in a 4-1 win at Stoke City.

The Spanish forward suffered a setback at the weekend following a first-half injury in Chelsea’s 1-0 loss to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.

Former Arsenal striker Wright admitted that he has already been impressed with Morata’s performances in Antonio Conte’s Chelsea team so far.

“What I’ve seen of him his movement is really good,” Wright told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“His second goal when he ran the Stoke defence and finished it like he did – that made me say, ‘Woah!’.

“What are we looking at here! He looks brilliant.”

Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons.

The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to improve his squad ahead of the new campaign.

The west London side haven’t won the Champions League title since 2012.
