Frank Lampard opens up about Chelsea star: He produces magic
Frank Lampard heaps praise on Eden Hazard after Chelsea's 1-0 victory over Bournemouth
Frank Lampard lavished praise on Eden Hazard after the Belgian star fired Chelsea to a 1-0 victory over Bournemouth in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
The 26-year-old looks like he is hitting his best form for the west London club and he was named as the man of the match as he scored the only goal of the game in the second half against the Cherries.
Hazard has earned a reputation as one of the Premier League’s top attacking talents since his move to Chelsea from Lille back in 2012.
And former Chelsea midfielder Lampard, who played alongside Hazard during his time at Stamford Bridge, believes that the Belgian is now the Blues’ go-to player when they’re struggling.
Speaking on BT Sport on Saturday evening, Lampard said: “Alvaro Morata missed those chances today so you need to next player to step up and that was Hazard.
“He’s a great talent. A club like Chelsea can’t be reliant on one player and I don’t want to talk down Pedro and Willian who had fantastic seasons last year.
“But for moments of magic and little clips of skill, the Bournemouth players were very scared of Eden Hazard tonight.”
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Champions League action on Tuesday night with a crunch clash against Roma in Italy.
The west London side will then turn their attentions back to Premier League affairs and their crunch clash with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge next weekend.
Chelsea’s win over Bournemouth left them in fourth place in the table and nine points behind leaders Manchester City after 10 games of the new season.
