The Blues signed the France international in a £30m deal from Leicester City in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Kante was instrumental in helping Leicester City to win the Premier League title in the 2015-16 season in his first full campaign at the King Power Stadium.
The 26-year-old moved to Chelsea following the west London side’s underwhelming 10th-place finish despite winning the Premier League title in 2014-15.
Kante’s influence in midfield helped Antonio Conte to lead Chelsea to the Premier League crown in the Italian’s debut season in England after the Blues finished seven points clear of Tottenham.
The defensive midfielder scored his only goal in the 2016-17 season in a 4-0 victory over Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side at Stamford Bridge back in October.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher praised Kante for being the key player in title-winning teams at two different clubs.
“[Kante is] the defensive player in the middle,” Carragher told the Daily Telegraph.
“He has gone from Leicester City to Chelsea and been the most impressive player in both sides.”
Kante’s next challenge will be to win the Champions League title for the first time following his two Premier League successes.
The Blues have produced the best performance in Europe from any English team so far after a 2-1 win at Atletico Madrid last month.
Kante won the PFA player of the year award last season.
