Antonio Conte will find a way to get Chelsea back involved in the title race, Pat Nevin has claimed.

The defending Premier League champions were thoroughly outplayed at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening as Manchester City eased to a 1-0 win against the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Belgium midfielder Kevin De Bruyne scored a second-half winner against his former club to secure three points and leave Chelsea with ground to make up in the title race.

Indeed, Conte’s side are already six points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City and Manchester United after seven games.

Chelsea have dropped points at home to Arsenal, Burnley and Manchester City in the opening two months of the 2017-18 campaign.

Former Chelsea winger Nevin is confident Conte will find a way to turnaround the west London side’s performance following a disappointing result against Manchester City.

“Don’t write off Antonio Conte. He will have spotted a lot of things,” Nevin told Newstalk.

“He will have learned a massive amount. He will learn a lot in a defeat. “

Chelsea have won the Premier League title in two of the past three seasons under Jose Mourinho and then Conte.

The Blues signed six players in the summer transfer window to add more depth to Conte’s squad.

The west London side will make the short trip to Crystal Palace in their next Premier League game at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon.
