Alvaro Morata has told Manchester United fans that Chelsea are ready to do what it takes to keep pace with the Red Devils in the Premier League title race.

The Red Devils underlined their Premier League title ambitions on Saturday afternoon when the secured a 1-0 victory over Tottenham thanks to Anthony Martial’s goal from the bench.

Manchester United and Manchester City are currently leading the race for the Premier League title this season but Chelsea and Tottenham will also be hoping to have a say in the top flight campaign.

And Morata has challenged his Chelsea team-mates to keep up their good form as they look to try and win the title and defend their crown this season.

Speaking to Chelsea’s website, Morata said: “We are not too far behind Manchester City.

“We need to keep working, it’s not easy but we need to give everything in order to stay up there with the two Manchester clubs and Tottenham.

“We can’t afford to give other teams more points if we want to have the possibility of winning the league.”

Chelsea are currently preparing for their Champions League clash against Roma on Tuesday night.

Antonio Conte’s men drew 3-3 with the Italian side when the two teams met at Stamford Bridge earlier this month.

The Blues won the Premier League in style under Conte last season but the west London club did not have the distraction of European football in the Italian manager’s first campaign at the west London club.
