The Daily Mail is claiming that the west London side have a keen interest in the 24-year-old forward and will watch him line up for the Serbian outfit against Arsene Wenger’s Gunners side on Thursday.
Boakye had a brief spell at Antonio Conte’s former club Juventus but failed to hold down a regular spot in the first team at the Italian club.
The striker has scored three goals in the league for Red Star so far this season and the same report claims that Boakye is also attracting interest from the likes of Celtic, Swansea City and Crystal Palace.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea will shore up their interest in the striker with a bid in the January transfer window, but it is clear that they are keeping a close eye on his developments, if the report in the Daily Mail is to be believed at least.
Chelsea are currently preparing to return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon with a trip to Crystal Palace after their 1-0 loss to Manchester City before the international break.
