Eden Hazard salutes Man United manager Jose Mourinho
Eden Hazard still clearly holds Jose Mourinho in high regard after voting for him as one of his picks for coach of the year
Eden Hazard chose Jose Mourinho as his third-place pick for the Fifa coach of the year award behind Antonio Conte and Zinedine Zidane.
The Belgian playmaker was afforded a vote in the prestigious award category due to his status as captain for his national side.
Hazard enjoyed a solid 2016-17 campaign under Conte last season as he helped Chelsea to win the Premier League title last term.
The 26-year-old played a key role for Chelsea as he helped the Blues win the title under Mourinho in the 2014-15 campaign, but like most of his team-mates, struggled to produce consistent performances in the 2015-16 campaign before Mourinho was sacked in December 2015.
There had been reports that Mourinho had fallen out with the likes of Hazard during the Portuguese coach’s final few months at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Chelsea playmaker clearly still holds the Manchester United boss in high regard, as he selected him as one of his three picks for manager of the year for last season.
Hazard will be expecting to feature for Chelsea when the Blues return to Premier League action on Saturday evening with a trip to Bournemouth.
The playmaker has been in good form for the Blues since making his return from an ankle injury at the start of the season.
